Police say snowy weather that left Michigan roads slippery may be a factor in a crash that killed a 49-year-old driver.

State police say Paula Lynn Eckstein of Bad Axe was driving Tuesday night in Sanilac County's Lamotte Township when her vehicle was struck by a delivery van.

At the time of the crash, police say snow was falling and the roadway about 45 miles east of Saginaw was covered with snow.

Eckstein was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the delivery van was taken to a hospital for treatment a passenger in the van wasn't hurt.

Snow, sleet and rain left roadways slick across southern Michigan. Dozens of crashes were reported Tuesday and early Wednesday in Saginaw County.

Crashes also were reported in the Grand Rapids area.
