SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
The Continental Indoor Football League would like to announce the Player's of the Week for Week 3 of the CIFL season.
Offensive Player of the Week is the Eaton, OH native Tommy Jones of the Dayton Sharks. The Shark quarterback went 12 of 16 for 185 yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions in the win over the Owensboro Rage.
Defensive Player of the Week is Trenton, New Jersey native Kwaheem Smith of the Erie Explosion. The standout defensive back had 3 interceptions and 3 touchdowns in the Explosions victory over the Detroit Thunder.
Special Teams Player of the Week is Saginaw native Herb Waits of the Saginaw Sting. The full time defensive player had a star performance on special teams making 6 tackles while playing on the kickoff team and finishing the game with 12 total tackles. The Eastern Michigan University grad helped the Sting remain undefeated by beating Port Huron at McMorran arena.
