SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
The Sarnia Sting scored six second-period goals en route to a crazy 8-7 win over the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw.
Jake Paterson gave up eight goals on 17 shots and was pulled in favor of Nikita Serebryakov. Reid Boucher tallied a hat trick and five other Sting skaters scored to lead the Sarnia attack.
Jimmy Lodge scored twice to lead the Spirit, who at one time in the game led 5-3. The Sting rallied for five consecutive goals to put them in the lead to stay.
Saginaw falls to 29-26-3-3 (64) with the loss. They have yet to clinch a playoff berth. The Spirit have lost three straight games. Sarnia improved to 34-25-0-4 (72). Sarnia has clinched a playoff berth.
Saginaw will host Plymouth on Tuesday. It's Kid's Day at the Dow with a special 10:45 a.m. start. The Spirit will then hit the road for 5 of their last 6 games of the regular season.
