Casino in Lansing no-go for now

LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

A federal judge put the brakes on plans for a Native American casino in Lansing.

A judge granted Michigan's request for a preliminary injunction against the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians on Tuesday.

The tribe wants to build a $245 million casino in Lansing. The project has the support of Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero.

But other tribes and top state officials oppose the project.

The state says the tribe failed to reach revenue-sharing agreements with other tribes. The tribe says it's not required to share money.
