SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Saginaw Police were called to a home at 208 Hess Avenue on Wednesday afternoon and when they arrived, they discovered two bodies inside the home.
Investigators told TV5's Gino Vicci that a mother and daughter were found shot to death. Police have identified the victims as 42-year-old Leigh Andrea King and her 11-year-old daughter, Sherlea King.
The Michigan State Police mobile crime lab was also called to the scene to help with the investigation.
Neighbors say it was King's son, who is in his early 20s and also lived at the home, who discovered the bodies and called 911. Officers say he was taken to the police station for questioning.
The deaths represent Saginaw's third and fourth homicides of 2013 and exact causes of death are being withheld pending autopsies.
Police are asking that anyone with information on the slayings call the department at 989-759-1598 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-422-JAIL.
