CLARE, MI (WNEM) -

Cops & Doughnuts Bakery, headquartered in Clare, Mich. launched their "Cops Coffee" line on Wednesday in Key West, Florida.

Now Cops Coffee has reached the southern most point of the continental USA.

It's taken nearly three years to get to this point. What started out as a move to save the town's 113-year-old bakery has transformed the group of police officers into innovative entrepreneurs.

In 2010, the Clare-based Cops & Doughnuts bakery has teamed up with Tennessee grocer to offer its Cops Coffee nationwide.

Greg Rynearson, president of Cops and Doughnuts, and eight fellow police officers found out that their local favorite bakery was closing and it was going to just become another empty building in their hometown of Clare. They drew a business model on a pizza box and convinced other officers to join in and purchase the bakery.

The bakery has been a phenomenal success. Cops Coffee is currently available in regular blend, decaffeinated and a dark roast blend. Other items sold at Cops and Doughnuts include muffins, cakes, bundts and merchandise including a T-shirt reading "You Have The Right to Remain Glazed."
