A 28-year-old West Michigan woman has been charged in an attack on her parents with a hatchet and knife.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that court records say Amber Lynn Wilson told her 63-year-old mother and 74-year-old stepfather that they were "going to die" before swinging a hatchet at them in Wyoming.
Wilson was arraigned by video Thursday in Wyoming District Court on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault. She's being held without bond.
Wilson told the court she wasn't read her Miranda rights and asked if she could plead no contest. A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf.
Police say the parents escaped and flagged down a patrol car early Wednesday. Injuries from the attack weren't life-threatening.
Authorities didn't reveal a reason for the attack.
