Patti Slusher has been trying to prove to credit card companies that she's not dead.
GLADWIN COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The credit bureau says she's dead, but that's something Patti Slusher hotly disputes.
For years the Mid-Michigan woman has been trying to prove that she is, in fact, alive, but without success.
"This has been a five-year process, I am so tired of this," said Slusher.
Slusher is alive and well, living in Gladwin, but according to one major credit card company, she is deceased.
In clear black and white terms, her credit report states she's six feet under. Slusher says this nightmare all began about five years ago when her husband passed away when she applied for a loan. She was denied and when she investigated as to why, she was told that one credit card company had her current status as deceased.
She says she has been getting the runaround ever since.
Several times Friday TV5 tried contacting the credit card company and left several messages on her behalf. Slusher says she thinks she is making progress on the whole mix-up, but it's like beating a dead horse.
Slusher says she will just wait for the next letter from the postman, hoping that soon she'll be recognized as being alive and well.
