George Barrett
HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The man accused of opening fire at Michigan State police troopers has been formally charged.
George Barrett, 66, was arraigned Monday on four felonies in a Huron County courtroom. The charges include assault with intent to murder.
Prosecutors say Barrett ran out of a home and shot at the troopers on Young Street in Sebewaing earlier this month.
Authorities said Barrett had been recovering from his injuries in the hospital before Monday.
If convicted, Barrett will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
