SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
An open house will be held Tuesday to discuss the two-phase road construction project planned for South Hamilton Street in Saginaw's Old Town.
The project is to stretch between Court Street and Lyon Street on the westside of Saginaw.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to come out as representatives will talk about the benefits of the construction and what it means to those affected.
The open house will be held at the City Hall Council Chambers at 1315 South Washington Avenue from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Phase One of the project is expected to start on July 8 and will last just under a month. Work is expected to be complete by Aug. 2. This phase will include design, planning, and installation of new street lighting for S. Hamilton Street from Court Street to Van Buren Street. No street closures are expected for this phase.
Phase Two will not happen until the 2014 construction season. Phase Two is the complete reconstruction of the roadway. The date for an open house on Phase Two has not been announced but is expected to take place before the start of the 2014 construction season.
