Police in Mount Pleasant say a 23-year-old man has been arraigned in connection to four armed robberies that occurred between Feb. 16 and Feb. 18.
Authorities say Vincent Miguel Belmarez is charged with four counts each of armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Belmarez was arraigned in a Mt. Pleasant courtroom on Tuesday, March 12.
Central Michigan Life reports that Belmarez had previously been convicted of possessing marijuana, which made it illegal for him to possess the gun at all.
A total of five robberies were reported over that weekend in Mount Pleasant. Michigan State Police are handling the charges as they relate to the fifth armed robbery.
Authorities had previously reported that Belmarez was 28 years old.
