SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Mid-Michigan is due for a little extra snowfall on Friday.

Snow will gradually develop through the morning hours. The snow will change over to a mix of rain and snow as a fast moving system moves through the area.

All precipitation will then change back to snow this evening and overnight.

"We will see light accumulations across all of Mid Michigan with snow totals between trace amounts and 2 inches," said Meteorologist Catherine Bodak. "Although that is not much snow, be careful if you have any Friday travel plans."

Bodak said to expect cooler than normal temperatures through the weekend with both Saturday and Sunday in the low 30s.

A few lingering snowflakes will fall early Saturday with dry air taking over through St. Patrick's Day.  Another system will bring the potential for some more snow accumulations on Monday.

"The track of the storm's path and snow potential are still uncertain so stay tuned!" said Bodak.
