An 11-year-old West Michigan boy faces attempted kidnapping and assault charges after a 6-year-old was lured from a yard and led away from his home.
MLive.com reports Friday that the older boy is being held in the Ottawa County Juvenile Detention Center. His name was not released.
County sheriff's Lt. Mark Bennett says the 6-year-old was grabbed around the neck and forced down a street in Georgetown Township, southwest of Grand Rapids.
Bennett says the boys know each other but are not friends.
The younger boy's stepmother tracked them down and had to pull the 11-year-old's fingers away from the 6-year-old. The 6-year-old was not hurt.
