HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

A man arrested in an attempted kidnapping at a Henderson park was also seen following a woman and her young daughter two days before the incident, according to an arrest report.

According to Henderson police, James Harlan Allen, 30, was arrested on Tuesday after questioning by detectives.

In an arrest report, the 6-year-old victim involved in the attempted kidnapping told police she encountered a "fat" white man who was seen playing with a tennis ball late Sunday morning at Mountain View Park.

The girl, in the report, was told to retrieve his ball before going to the bathroom. After she was done, she was blocked at the doorway by the man, police were told by the girl in the report.

As the girl stated in the report, she was asked by the man if she was done. He continually blocked her way out, the report said.

That was about the time, the report stated, the suspect covered the girl's mouth. The suspect tried forcing gum out of her mouth before attempting to cover it again, the report said.

Just as he tried again, the girl, in the report, started screaming and the man let her go.

A witness at the park told police he noticed the suspect entering a red Volkswagen Golf about the time the girl ran from the bathroom screaming.

Another witness came forward to police saying the man described as the suspect was also at the park on March 15. The witness told police in the report that the man had an unusual interest in her 3-year-old daughter.

She said the man stated working at a nursing home during his visit with the woman and her daughter.

The woman was able to identify Allen in a photo line-up. Police learned he worked at a nursing home in Henderson and also had a 1987 Volkswagen registered to him.

In an interview with police, Allen, in the report, admitted to not only being at the park on March 15 and two days after that, he also admitted to entering the bathroom in the attempted abduction.

"I guess I did put my hand on her mouth," Allen stated in the report. "Maybe I was seeing if I could have a little fun."

Allen also stated in the report that he is attracted to teenage girls.

Police booked Allen into Henderson Detention Center on first degree kidnapping of a minor, child abuse and first degree burglary charges.
