Crime update: Man shot overnight in Saginaw

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Police are investigating a shooting that happened last night in Saginaw.

Authorities say the shooting happened around 11:35 p.m. at 14th and Burt streets. That's on the city's east side.

Police tell us a male victim was shot and taken to St. Mary's Hospital. TV5 currently does not know the victim's condition at this time and police have not made any arrests in the case.

That shooting follows another that happened early Monday morning. Saginaw police are still searching for the person responsible for the shooting and killing of a 26-year-old man on South Webster and Saginaw streets. The victim was found shot inside a house, and authorities have not yet released his identity.

Anyone with information on either of these shootings is asked to call Saginaw police at 989-759-1598.

Meanwhile, authorities have a suspect in custody who they say was involved in a stabbing during the weekend.

That stabbing happened Sunday morning outside the Sport Page Lounge on Lyon Street in Saginaw.

A man in his 40s was injured and taken to the hospital where his condition has been upgraded to stable. There's no word on what led to the stabbing and the suspect's name has not been released.
