City commission votes to rehire former city manager

Posted: Updated:
BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

The Bay City Commission is hiring a familiar face.

Former Bay City city manager Robert Belleman will be working for the city once again, just two months after stepping down to become Saginaw County Controller.

The city commission voted 5 to 3 to re-hire Belleman part time.

The temporary position will see him helping the city sell municipal bonds for the River's Edge development.

Belleman would still remain at his post in Saginaw County while working the part-time gig.

The hire still has to be approved by the current Bay City city manager.
