WICKLIFFE, OH (WOIO) -
On Saturday, April 6th at 11:26 am, Wickliffe Police responded to a call for a man shot in the 1700 block of E. 290th near Euclid Avenue.
Officers found a 56-year-old white male victim who had been shot in the head twice.
Police soon figured out that the victim fled from the residence where he had been shot and that the shooter, a 53-year-old white male, was still inside the home where the shooting occurred.
The report says that officers surrounded the suspect's house, called his cell phone and at about 12:15 pm, he surrendered and was taken into custody.
The victim was transported to an area hospital and is currently undergoing surgery and is expected to survive.
Wickliffe Police remain on scene investigating the incident.
The suspect will be held in the Wickliffe City Jail and is expected to be arraigned on charges related to the shooting on Monday, April 8th.
The identity of the suspect will be released when he is arraigned.
Both the suspect and the victim live in the residence where the shooting took place. A motive for the shooting has been determined but is not being released at this time. Police officers from the cities of Euclid, Willowick and Willoughby Hills assisted at the scene of the crime.
