Motel evacuated after early morning fire

FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Parts of a Flint Township motel were evacuated Wednesday morning after an early morning fire.

The fire at the Red Roof Inn, located at 3219 Miller Rd. in Flint Township, started around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The fire started in a maintenance room.

The motel is located right off the I-75 interchange with Miller Road.

Not much is known about the fire, but it is believed that no injuries were sustained as a result of it.

Officials only evacuated a few rooms, and people affected have been allowed to return inside. Fire crews were on the scene until around 8:30 a.m.
