SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

A two-car accident sent one car and a fire hydrant crashing into the Eddy Place building in downtown Saginaw Wednesday morning.

Two people in one car were taken to an area hospital, where they were being treated for minor injuries.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday on Washington Avenue, just west of the intersection of Genesee Avenue.

One of the cars hit a fire hydrant, and the impact was so large that the hydrant went flying through a bay window in the front of the building.

The accident was cleaned up in just under an hour, and no roads were closed as a result of the crash.
