FULTON COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

One person was sent to the hospital after being struck by lightning Wednesday.

The incident happened in the 1700 block of County Road D in Fulton County, on the northern edge of the Maumee State Forest.

Todd Adams, his brother, nephew and friend were all working on a truck inside his garage when the lightning struck. Adams said his brother had his hand on the transmission and was holding a light at the time.

"He took the worst of it," Adams said. "He was having a hard time unclenching his hands and straightening out his arms, and a hard time breathing."

Adams and his nephew were working underneath the car. They felt the shock, but were not injured. Adams' brother was taken to the hospital.

"He's going to be in the hospital tonight, but he's talking and he's feeling good," Adams said. "I'm glad he's going to be okay and he's talking, it was just really scary."

Lucas County dispatch says the man was transported to the hospital by Providence Township Life Squad.
