After searching the pond and an unoccupied apartment adjacent to the pond police ruled that this is as an isolated crime.  Olmsted Township Police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are currently investigating.

The victim has been identified as an African American male approximately 20-40 years of age, 5'11"tall, approximately 142 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes.

The rope was attached to a piece of concrete and steel pipe.

The Medical Examiner's Office and Olmsted Township Police Department are trying to positively identify the badly-decomposed victim through DNA Records, Missing Persons date base, and possible dental records.
