FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Cooper Tire and Rubber have been ordered to pay nearly $33 million in connection to a deadly crash involving one of its tires.

The Iowa Court of Appeals has upheld the jury award against the Findlay company.

Investigators say tread on a rear tire made by Cooper separated, causing a driver to lose control back in 2007.

Cooper will now likely appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court.
