BOYNE FALLS, Mich. (AP) -

Boyne Mountain in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula is giving skiers a later than usual chance to hit the slopes this spring.

MLive.com reports the resort plans to have 170 skiable acres and 25 trails available this weekend.

Boyne Mountain's president and general manager Ed Grice says it's been 16 years since Boyne Mountain has offered skiing this late in April.

Grice says snow conditions are "just too good to stop." The resort closed for daily skiing April 7, but has been open on weekends. The resort stated on their Facebook page that they'll be open the weekend of April 27 and 28.
