Posted: Updated:
BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

WNEM has received word that the southbound lanes of the Independence Bridge in Bay City are back open after a traffic incident closed down a portion of the roadway for a short time.

A vehicle that was hauling a trailer lost control and the trailer was blocking the two southbound lanes of traffic.

The debris has been cleared and the roadway is back open to through traffic.

The Independence Bridge links Harry S. Truman Parkway on the city's east side to Wilder Road on the city's west side.

Commuters had to use the Liberty Bridge as an alternate route but the roadway is back open at this time.
