Communities participate in National Drug Take-Back Day

BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Mid-Michigan residents unloaded their unwanted or expired prescription drugs. Several communities took part in the National Drug Take-Back Day.

A collection box was set up in the Bay County Law Enforcement Center. The take-back day provided a safe and anonymous way to dispose of potentially dangerous pills.

"I am glad because then you don't have to worry about somebody getting a hold of them and using them incorrectly. I'm really relieved to have them out of my house," said Linda Stockwell.

All 29 Michigan State Police posts also took part in the effort.

Carrollton Township is accepting unwanted pills year-round.
