Authorities in Kalamazoo say a sewer line blockage has led to the spilling of at least 1,800 gallons of raw waste in a residential area.
MLive.com reports that the sewage spill happened Saturday in the western Michigan city. It says the sewage overflowed from a manhole in the Oakland/Winchell neighborhood.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Services says it got word of the overflow about 11:40 a.m. and had removed the blockage by 5:30 p.m.
The city is advising people to stay out of the area.
