It was a comfortable Tuesday and we stayed dry for around 95% of the area. There were only a couple of late day, (bite-size) showers which moved through places like Union, Spartanburg and Laurens counties.
Hopefully you were able to enjoy the occasional sunshine we had in many places.
Wednesday: More clouds will build in, but some sunshine will be possible at times, especially around the late morning and early afternoon hours. You'll notice more of a consistent breeze originating from the east-northeast. Expect an 8-16mph breeze for both the Upstate and into Western NC towns. Temperatures will reach the upper 60s and low 70s.
A storm system will move a bit closer, but it will move very slowly and remain a good distance west of us. Because of this system and the northeast surface breeze, we'll keep a slim chance for a light rain shower for tomorrow. We don't anticipate widespread rain.
Thursday: Expect a better chance for spotty showers on Thursday, but it won't rain all day. The unrelenting northeast breeze will be the cause for extra cloud-cover, opportunities for rain and cooler temperatures. Highs will only reach 66°-70° in Upstate towns with 64°-68° in Western NC.
Friday: At this point, Friday looks dry. That could change, however, with the proximity of the system to our west. Rain will be more likely west of us in the Tennessee Valley. The cool, northeast breeze should lighten a bit which may lead to some breaks in the clouds.
Saturday & Sunday: Unfortunately, the best chance for rain (during the next seven days) moves in this weekend. Occasional rain will be possible both Saturday and Sunday as temperatures likely remain in the 60s area-wide. In terms of rainfall amounts, we could pick up over an inch of rain for the second consecutive weekend. However, this weekend doesn't look as rainy as the last!
