Emotions ran high as residents discussed the Buena Vista Township clerk's poor choice of words.
They gathered for a special meeting, and most of them were calling for Gloria Platko's ouster.
Last week, she described Township Supervisor Dwayne Parker with the N-word.
Township officials voted to censure Platko by a count of 5-1.
She will also have to receive racial sensitivity training, apologize to the public and Dwayne Parker, acknowledge that her conduct was inappropriate and finally resign as clerk.
So far, Platko has said she will not step down. Platko was not in attendence at Tuesday night's meeting.
