MCSO deputies were looking for man matching this description after a 10-year-old girl was lured into a vehicle Tuesday.
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said it is hunting for a man who lured a 10-year-old child into his vehicle and exposed himself to her Tuesday afternoon.
An MCSO spokesman said the man approached the girl about 4 p.m. as she walked near the area of 18500 E. Ryan Rd. in Queen Creek.
The spokesman said the man displayed a weapon after the child refused a ride, and once she was in the vehicle, he exposed himself.
He later released the child unharmed in the same area when she refused to comply with his requests, the spokesman said.
Detectives released a composite drawing of the suspect Wednesday morning.
Police said he has black hair and a dark complexion and was wearing brown jeans and a black hat.
They said he was driving a brown or gray four-door vehicle.
The Higley Unified School District issued a statement that said even though the incident didn't happen at a school, it urged parents and residents to be on "heightened alert," take extra precautions to keep children safe and be alert to people acting suspiciously.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit Detective McGehee (No. 1283) or Sgt. Lugo (No. 1480) at 602-876-1087 and reference incident report No. 13-081630.
