Police arrest man after he allegedly uses BB gun to steal tools

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

A New Haven man is accused of using a spray-painted BB gun to steal tools from another  Individual late Wednesday night.

The victim told police that a man, who was later identified as 34-year-old Joell Rosario, took his tools from a truck. When the victim confronted Rosario, the suspect said the tools were his and pointed a BB gun at him.

Rosario took off with the tools and officers were able to locate him in the parking for Grand Cafe's. Police discovered that Rosario was trying to sell the tools to another man.

Rosario was arrested and charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, weapon in a motor vehicle, use of a facsimile firearm in the commission of a crime, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, insufficient insurance and third-degree trespassing.

Police seized a spray-painted black BB gun from Rosario.
