Vincent Voiro and Derek De Young combined to pitch nine shutout innings as the Beloit Snappers beat the Great Lakes Loons 4-0 on Thursday.
Dashenko Ricardo did most of the damage for the Loons, going 3-for-4. The Loons managed just five hits in the game.
Great Lakes fell to 12-14 on the year, seven games back of South Bend for first-place in the Midwest League's Eastern Division.
Ralston Cash (2-1, 3.42 ERA) pitched five and a third innings for the Loons, giving up four earned runs while striking out six.
The teams will wrap up the series Friday at Dow Diamond in Midland. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday's game is a special beer tasting event in which participants can enjoy eight samples of beers.
