Deputies said a Westminster man fired shots into a home with eight people inside after an argument broke out about property and funeral costs on Saturday.
Oconee County deputies said they were called to a Hobson Street home about 5:30 a.m. where they arrived about to find a woman sitting atop a man in the front yard, pinning him to the ground.
Deputies said a group inside the home had been drinking for a while when an argument started about property and funeral expenses. At one point, 63-year-old James Webb left the home then returned and fired shots at the house, deputies said.
When Webb started firing shots, his daughter ran outside, tackled him in the front yard to hold him down, according to the deputy's report. The report stated Webb held the gun to her head and threatened to kill her.
Deputies said when they arrived, they found several guns and shotgun shells nearby.
Webb was arrested and charged with eight counts of attempted murder. Deputies also charged him with discharging firearms into a dwelling, saying he fired three buck shot rounds into the home.
Deputies said no one was injured in the shooting.
