It's Election Day in some Mid-Michigan communities and here's a look at some key contests taking place.
Public safety will be on the ballot as Mount Morris Township police and fire departments are asking for a millage increase.
The police are looking for an additional 3 mills and fire department is asking for an additional 1-and a half mills.
Voters will also decide who will fill the seat for the 27th district.
The seat became vacant after former state senator John Gleason won election in November to be Genesee County's clerk.

Huron County: Grant Township road tax levy renewal/North Huron Schools operating tax levy/Sigel Township school district No. 6 tax levy
Lapeer County: Dryden Township Police tax levy/Imlay City
Midland County: Hemlock Public school district bonding proposal/Midland Public school district bonding proposal/Midland Public school district sinking fund tax levy proposal
Saginaw County: Hemlock Public school district bonding proposal/New Lothrop Public school district bonding proposal/Swan Valley school district bonding proposal
Shiawassee County: Bath Community school district operating tax levy/Laingsburg Community school district operating tax levy/New Lothrop Public school district bonding proposal
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
