MIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Haz-Mat crews have cleared the scene of a hazardous material release from Dow Corning's Midland plant.

A minor chemical vapor release was reported just before 9 p.m. Wednesday. That chemical vapor was identified ammonium chloride.

Midland County Central Dispatch had initially said Saginaw Road between Salzburg and Mark Putnam was closed but the road is open after fire crews sprayed the roadway down.

A recorded message from Central Dispatch says there was no threat to those living nearby. No injuries were reported.
