FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The American Red Cross is providing support to dozens of people who lost their homes in an apartment building fire.

The fire started around 9 a.m. Sunday at Centerview Apartments in Flint.

Residents say it started in one apartment and spread throughout the building.

Rescue crews said that everyone was able to make it out of the structure safely.

Officials allowed residents on the third floor to go into the building and grab some of their belongings.

The Red Cross put residents up in hotels.

There's still no word on what caused the fire.
