After snapping a 9-game skid on Monday, the Great Lakes Loons have lost again in Lansing, falling to the Lugnuts, 5-0.
Ralston Cash (2-2, 3.71 ERA) gave up five runs, two earned in four-and-a-third innings of work to suffer the loss. Cash also walked five batters while striking out four.
Loons hitters only mustered two hits during the game, one day after scoring 10 runs.
A bright spot for Great Lakes was the bullpen. Arismendy Ozoria, Joel Lima and Scott Griggs combined to shut out the Lugnuts over the final 3-and-two-thirds innings.
Four Lugnut hurlers combined to shut out the Loons. Kellen Sweeney went three-for-four at the plate to lead the Lansing attack.
The Loons will return home for a three-game series against the South Bend SilverHawks. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Dow Diamond in Midland.
It's a quick homestand for the Loons as they'll head back out on the road for eight games in Lansing and Bowling Green.
