Part of Sylvania Avenue shut down early Wednesday morning, after a gravel truck overturned, spilling its load.
According to 911 dispatchers, a report of the overturned vehicle between McCord and King roads came in around 4:10 a.m. Police say the gravel truck driver swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle, causing the truck to overturn and slide, eventually hitting a car.
The woman driving the car was injured and had to be cut out of her vehicle. She was taken away on a stretcher by EMS. Her car was towed from the scene.
Sylvania City Police shut down the area for four hours to clean up. The accident scene was cleared just before 8 a.m.
