Murfreesboro schools could have split starts to alleviate buses

Posted: Updated:
MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Students in Murfreesboro schools could start class at different times to help the buses run more smoothly.

The district is moving towards a plan to create two different "bell times" - one at 7:30 a.m. and one at 8:30 a.m., according to our news partners at The Daily News Journal.

The hour-long gap is designed to give bus drivers time to run two separate routes in the morning and afternoon.

Right now, when those drivers double up, many students are left waiting for as long as 40 minutes.

The new plan could be adopted sometime during the coming school year.
