Powerball jackpot soars to $600 million

Posted: Updated:

The Powerball jackpot has crossed into record territory.

No one matched Wednesday night's numbers and as of Friday afternoon, the jackpot stands at $600 million.

The jackpot can be paid out as an annuity for 30 years, in which the player would receive payments annually, or the winner could decide to take the money in a lump sum of $376.9 million.

This Powerball jackpot is the largest, having surpassed the $587.5 million pot last reached in 2012.

A Megal Millions jackpot in 2012 reached $656 million.

The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 10:59 p.m. You can catch those winning on WNEM TV5 during our 11 p.m. newscast.

WNEM.com wants to know what you would do with all that money if you won -- would you buy a boat? Travel? Buy your mom a house? Party so hard that you would put the Rolling Stones to shame? Leave us a description in our comments fields below.
