One teenager is dead and two others are in critical condition following a car crash Friday afternoon.
It happened on the border of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties on County Line Rd, just south of Demond Rd around 4:30pm.
Police say a 2003 Pontiac Aztec was traveling too fast, ran a stop sign, lost control, and went airborne.
When it landed, the driver could not gain control of the vehicle and it went off the road and hit a tree.
Three teens (a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old from Byron, and a 16-year-old from Swartz Creek) were ejected from the vehicle.
Two other passengers (A 16-year-old and an 18-year old from Gaines) were injured in the crash along with the driver but were not ejected.
The 16-year-old from Swartz Creek was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 5 survivors are at Hurley Hospital; both teens from Byron are said to be in critical condition.
Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.
They say Marijuana and speed were critical factors in the crash.
