Driver hits tree so hard, tree must be cut down to free her
HEMLOCK, MI (WNEM) -
A 20-year-old Hemlock woman is very lucky to be walking away from a car vs. tree crash that ended with rescuers cutting down the tree to free her.
The crash happened Sunday morning around 9:30 a.m.
Saginaw County Sheriff's deputies tell WNEM.com that the woman was on her way to work and traveling eastbound on Swan Creek Road. For some unknown reason, she lost control of her vehicle near Orr Road, went off the road, through a yard and slammed into a tree.
Deputies said she hit the tree so hard that it had to be cut down to free her from the wreck. The Jaws of Life were also used to help get the woman out of the vehicle. On top of it, authorities report the woman had very minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Police have not disclosed what make or model vehicle the woman was driving at the time of the crash.
