Cleveland's Super-Pimp hits the scene

Posted: Updated:

In an ordinary home in Mentor you will meet an extraordinary man, David Michael Toth. Five nights a week David makes a not so ordinary transformation to Super pimp.  He is the king of Cleveland's nightlife and his name is Super pimp, but with a much different meaning than what you might think.

"I can usually tell when someone new doesn't understand -- well you pimp women?'" says Super pimp.  "I don't pimp women, I explain to them.  Pimp means to promote and what I promote is the good life, good family, good friends, good times!"

The good times begin back at his home where he rotates through his collection of 50 suits. He slips into the most stylish pair of shoes, a zip of the fly, a button of the shirt, the last loop of the tie and the transformation is complete.

A quick chat with his daughter before he leaves.  And he's out the door to his workplace for the night: The Warehouse district.

David used to do this after working his shifts in sales at Progressive Insurance.

After 14 years of that, he is now Super pimp full time.

"It was time to pursue my dream, I decided this is the time now that I need to go out and do what I've always dreamed of.  It was hard to walk away from the steady paycheck but you have to pursue your dream, you have to go out and do it," explained Super pimp.

His nightly routine takes him from one bar to the next.  All the while he juggles being an entertainer and an entrepreneur.  There's a lot of hugs and handshakes.  Like a celebrity he is in constant demand for a photo.  Each person he meets he hands out his business card directing people to his website, his twitter and Facebook pages.

"I work at this full time now, I make my living by being Super pimp.  I do personal appearances, I do weddings, birthday parties, motivational... doing my dream... this is my dream."

He exudes an energy that is only matched by the loudness of his suits.  On the dance floor he dances up a storm, occasionally dropping to the floor to do one armed push ups.  And if he would tell us his age, we might be justifiably impressed.

"What I say to the people that don't understand me is just watch me, just feel me, watch other peoples reactions from me and you'll see who I am right away," said Super pimp.

He says it hasn't been easy, there have been lean times doing this for a living. But in a town where fame comes with having all the right character, Super pimp keeps working the streets to keep his dream alive.

"Now remember above all, pimpin' ain't easy" says Super pimp.

You might be wondering what you get when you book Super pimp. "I go to a lot of parties that are like 7th grade dances, guys on one side, girls on the other. I bring everyone together."
