TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Many east Toledo families were awoken by the sound of fire crews early Tuesday morning.

Fires sparked at a home on the 400 block of Thurston Street and a home on the 700 block of Euclid Avenue. Both fires began around 4 a.m.

According to the fire chief on the scene, the home on Thurston Street was "fire bombed," meaning a flammable device was tossed onto the front porch, causing the fire to quickly spread.

Three adults and two children got out of the home safely, officials say.

The house is not a total loss, and damages are estimated at about $20,000, according to the fire chief.

The home burning of Euclid Avenue is believed to be vacant. Fire investigators are calling the blaze "suspicious."

Fire investigators tell WTOL 11, police are questioning a person of interest related to the fire.

Authorities are not sure if the two fires are related.
