Saginaw's latest homicide victim ID'd

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Police in Saginaw responded to the scene of a shooting overnight on the city's west side. That shooting now has been deemed a homicide.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday on the 700 block of Woodbridge Street, between Hayes and Throop streets.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a person had been shot. The victim, 32-year-old Lamarkus Boyd, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Boyd's homicide is Saginaw's 11th of 2013. Witnesses said they heard two shots fired and police tell TV5 the area where the shooting took place is normally a quiet part of town.

There is no suspect or any other information at this time. Anyone with information about this incident should call CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-422-JAIL.
