GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM/AP) -

State police have identified a second person who died in a crash on Friday, May 17.

Brandon Anderson, 16, of Byron died this afternoon. 16-year-old Matthew VanKuren, of Swartz Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene of Friday's crash in Genesee County's Gaines Township.

The accident happened at County Line Road just south of Demond Road in Shiawassee County.

The Flint Journal reports the teenagers were in a speeding Pontiac Aztec that ran a stop sign at an elevated railroad crossing, and the vehicle went airborne. The driver was unable to maintain control and the vehicle, which flipped after striking a tree.

Police say Anderson, VanKuren and a 14-year-old boy were ejected, and the boy is in critical condition. The 16-year-old driver and an 18-year-old passenger also were among the injured.

Police believe that drugs and alchohol were factors in the crash.
