Toledo driver extracted from car after hit and run

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A driver had to be extracted from a car in north Toledo, after getting hit by another red light runner.

Police say a black SUV going north on Bancroft Street ran a red light at LaGrange and Bancroft Streets early Saturday morning.

The driver smashed into another car, then collided with a light pole.

The driver of the SUV fled on foot, according to police.

The person hit in the car was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. No update on the victim's condition has been released.

Police are searching for the SUV driver.

Toledo Edison was called to the scene to fix the cracked light pole.
