A man was rushed to the hospital around 3:30 a.m. Monday, after getting shot in a west Toledo apartment.
Police say at least two suspects walked up to an apartment on the 1400 block of Brooke Park Drive, firing around 20 shots through the window. Two different guns were used, according to police, and multiple shell casings were found at the scene.
Renzie Williams, 40, was the only person inside the apartment at the time. He was shot in the back and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Williams told police he had no idea who shot him.
Residents nearby believe the shooting is related to a fatal shooting over the weekend. A neighbor said his apartment building was the intended target and this shooting was in retaliation to the shooting Saturday night on Reynolds Road, in which Kenneth Collins, 20, was found unconscious in a vehicle with a gunshot wound and died later at a Toledo hospital. The neighbor said a woman in his building packed up all her clothes and left after Monday's shooting because she was the intended target.
This information has not been confirmed by Toledo police, but they say there are no suspects or a motive in the case and no arrests have been made.
