SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
The Saginaw County Sheriff's department has suspended a deputy for his role in a crash that injured a pregnant woman.
According the department, Deputy James Yeager was suspended for 48 hours for his involvement in a crash at Mackinaw and S. Harrison on March 5.
The suspension is for 24 hours with pay, 24 hours without pay as the deputy works 12 hour shifts. The suspension will be spread out over several days to minimize staffing issues.
The crash involved a Ford Explorer that not only contained the pregnant woman, but three children as well -- they only suffered minor injuries, but according to MLive, the pregnant woman had to have an emergency c-section.
An investigation by the sheriff's department found that Yeager was at fault in the crash. MLive reports Yeager has been with the department for nearly 20 years.
