If you need documents destroyed, KCTV5 is taking them.

KCTV5 has partnered with Arvest Bank and PROSHRED to offer Shred Alert, a free event.

"Shred Alert is a free to the public event that provides consumers a simple, reliable and efficient way to destroy personal and private paper documents they no longer need," KCTV5 Vice President and General Manager Darrin McDonald said in a news release.

The event will be Friday, June 28, from 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Saturday, June 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The documents can be brought to the Arvest Bank branch at 9300 Blue Ridge Blvd.

Do not bring electronics, computers or televisions to this event.

"We are excited to work with Arvest Bank and PROSHRED to bring this great event to life," said McDonald. "It's a fast easy way to help protect yourself from identity theft."

Arvest bank officials concurred.

"We're pleased to be able to provide this service, at no cost, to our community," said Michelle Fittro, vice president of marketing for the bank. "As a bank, we understand the importance of shredding documents which contain confidential and sensitive information to avoid any issues related to identity fraud. While there are electronic products and services that provide secure options for storing personal data, we know that this is not always an option, so we are hopeful individuals will be able to take advantage of this event to securely dispose of their paperwork and documents."

Document destruction services will be provided by PROSHRED a world leader specializing in secure shredding services. They help businesses and consumers properly safeguard private information, maintain legislative compliance and protect their public image. With more than 25 years of trusted mobile paper shredding experience, PROSHRED has pioneered one of the most effective systems for document destruction and on-site shredding services.
