The crash scene in Saginaw Township on Friday morning.
SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
Police in Saginaw Township are investigating after a hit-and-run crash ended with at least one person injured and the offending driver being caught just a block away.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. at Weineke and George streets. Police tell TV5 a man driving a white van was stopped, waiting to turn right into Menards. Authorities said a woman in a red sedan then rear-ended him.
The man in the van turned into Menards, but police said the driver in the red car went around him and tried to flee the scene. Investigators said the woman made it one block and had to stop due to damage to her car. Police said she had another woman in the car with her, as well as children. None of them were hurt in the crash.
Police said the man had a minor head injury and was taken to a hospital to be checked for further injuries.
The female driver was given a field sobriety test and checked by paramedics at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
